magicJack Plus Release Date Fast Approaching

I haven’t been updating this site at all since the femtoJack was cancelled, since this site obviously and clearly had only one purpose, which was to write about the femtoJack. Despite my lack of updates I wanted to give you all one little update today.
This update is to tell you all that magic Jack will soon be releasing the magicJack plus which has replaced the femtoJack at basically being the 2nd generation magicJack. This little guy doesn’t work with mobile devices like the femtoJack was suppose to (that will come with the magicJack app in the future) but it does however look like its gonna be pretty good.
The magicJack plus is suppose to be released sometime during the mid to late summer and it is expected to cost roughly the same as the first edition magicJack. And oh ya, the difference between the plus and the standard MJ is that the magicJack plus doesn’t rely on a computer in order to operate. Instead all you have to do is hook it directly into your telephone and you will be up and running within minutes. This will be a game changer for many people because there is a certain sect of people that absolutely refused to buy the magicJack due to the requirement of having to keep your computer on in order for it to operate.
Sounds pretty cool to me. What do you think?
I am very sad to write today that Ymax announced that they will not be coming out with the femtoJack as originally planned. I knew something was up because they were suppose to come out with the femtoJack last year but never did imagine that they would totally cancel their plans for it. It’s to bad because I had big plans to make this the #1 femtoJack guide on the website, outside of the official site of course.
I can’t seem to figure out why in the world Ymax would cancel this product because to me it seems like it could be even bigger than the magic Jack. Who wouldn’t want unlimited minutes while at home on their cell phone? My only inclination is that it had to do with them using cell signals and the cell companies raised a huge stink over it and that’s just to bad. It’s crazy to me that these companies greed and desire for profitability causes the femtoJack to never even come into existence.
In the article I read it did however state that they are coming out with a magic Jack plus, which is an updated version of the previous magic Jack. The article I read said that there were a whole bunch of new features but the only one I remember was that it didn’t have to be hooked up to a computer like the old magic Jack.
With the femtoJack’s cancellation I’m not sure what I’m going to do with this site. I’ll probably throw some ads up since it gets a bit of traffic and then I dunno. Perhaps I will expand on VoIP services, maybe about the magic Jack. Or maybe I won’t do anything with it.
What a shame that we won’t be seeing the femtoJack!!!

When I was thinking about the femtoJack the other day I realized that it has an added benefit that not many people are talking about. This added feature is the ability to work as a cell phone signal booster.
In my previous post about the femtoJack I said that the femtoJack uses femtocell technology which means that it makes its own mini cell network in order to wirelessly pick up and transmit calls. Then, since it has been established that the femtoJack works with cell phones we can infer that even if someone doesn’t have a normal cell signal in their home they will still be able to make calls from their mobile phone.
Maybe I wasn’t clear enough previously but the femtoJack can work with any GSM phone even if it isn’t activated with a service provider. This means that the ability for the GSM phone to work with the femtoJack is 100% and completely independent of the persons mobile carrier. The end result is that whether or not a true cell signal is present your mobile phone will work if a femtoJack is present. The end affect of this is equal to or better than that of a cell phone signal booster without a booster actually being present.
Wow is all I have to say about this. Unlimited minutes from my mobile phone while at home for only $20 a year and a guaranteed perfect signal, this is simply amazing.
